Las organizaciones sociales que formamos parte de la Mesa Argentina del Programa MERCOSUR Social y Solidario queremos hacer público nuestro apoyo y apuesta política a la construcción y fortalecimiento de la unidad latinoamericana, reafirmando que todo destino de justicia, igualdad y mayores derechos para nuestro pueblo, va ineludiblemente ligado a la unidad, solidaridad y complementación entre los países de Nuestra América.
Desde este marco, rechazamos las expresiones injerencistas vertidas por el gobierno argentino en el marco de la Cumbre del MERCOSUR. Reconocemos a todos los países integrantes del bloque MERCOSUR, UNASUR y CELAC como hermanos y consideramos que estos procesos de integración construidos, y fortalecidos en la última década, constituyen los espacios que debemos transitar como país. Aportar a su crecimiento y profundización, es nuestra única posibilidad para hacer frente –unidos- a un mundo en crisis que nos interpela no solo en el campo de los derechos ciudadanos de nuestros pueblos, sino también en la relación que deseamos mantener con los bienes de la naturaleza que nos pertenecen.
El MERCOSUR debió transitar un largo camino para despojarse del sello neoliberal que le imprimieran los años 90 y las apuestas políticas de las élites gobernantes durante esa década reduciendo a la integración al acuerdo comercial entre los mercados más concentrados del continente. Hemos avanzado con mucho esfuerzo – aún reconociendo las deudas pendientes – hacia una concepción más rica y compleja de la que participan no solo la dimensión económica – ahora desde una perspectiva que se plantea como horizonte la complementariedad y cooperación entre nuestros países; sino también desafiadas a sumarle aspectos sociales y culturales desde una valorización de la plena vigencia de los derechos humanos y del sistema democrático que son inéditas en el continente.
Esta es nuestra apuesta política, y desde este espacio seguiremos aportando junto a las organizaciones y movimientos sociales del continente para que el sueño de una Latinoamérica unida con justicia y equidad para nuestros pueblos sea posible.
